A woman from Tennessee has been charged with a number of disturbing offenses, including downloading child pornography and recording her dog engaging in sexual acts with her. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) filed a complaint about Stephanie Weir, 33, alerting Memphis Police to her alleged crimes, leading to her arrest on Tuesday.  When police carried out a search warrant as instructed by the NCMEC, they found the disturbing images as well as a video of Weir playing with her pet dog. The NCMEC had previously informed authorities that Weir had child pornography on an online cloud account. After being detained, she reportedly confessed to the crimes, and she is currently being held in custody on a $200,000 bond as she is accused of a number of crimes.  Following Weir's admission, she has been charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, criminal offense against animals, particularly aggravated exploitation of a minor, and aggravated unlawful photographing

Prof. Abdulrasheed Na'Allah, vice chancellor of the University of Abuja, reports that two academic staff members were recently let go due to allegations of sexual harassment. The institution, according to the don, has set up a channel of communication for students to report instances of sexual harassment and other unethical behavior by lecturers. According to reports, sexual harassment has been an ongoing problem in Nigerian institutions. A 2018 survey by the World Bank Group's Women found that 70% of female graduates from tertiary institutions in Nigeria had experienced sexual harassment at school. The report claims that lecturers and classmates are the primary offenders. Although the Senate passed a bill in 2021 mandating a 21-year sentence for unruly lecturers, the majority of those charged and convicted after the bill was passed were simply fired. The Lagos Police Command confirmed the murder of Augusta Osedion Onuwabuagbe, a 21-year-old undergraduate, and the removal of her genitals inside her lover's Ajah apartment. The recovery of a suspected confessional note left behind by the 26-year-old loverboy, Benjamin alias Killaboi , who is currently on the run, was also confirmed. Detectives from Ajah Police Station were said to have forced open the door to Augusta's apartment in Oral Estate, Ikota, Ajah, after her mother reported her inability to reach her daughter. On July 11, the woman received a call from her daughter, a student at Lead University in Ibadan, Oyo State, saying she had a disagreement with her lover and would be going to his house to settle it.   (Getty images) A Florida House member, Rep Fabian Basabe, has been accused by his two former staffs of sexual harassment. The complaint, which was filed on Thursday, the House member  allegedly slapped 25-year-old Nicolas Frevola, a former legislative aide, from behind at an elementary school career day event in December 2022 and said, “I want ALL of that butt!” This incident happened without consent and in a room full of children, the lawsuit states. The complaint also details another incident in January at an event following Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ inauguration. During the event, Mr Basabe was “drinking an excessive amount of alcohol,” the complaint continues, before asking Mr Frevola an “inappropriate” question, which elevated to the elected official slapping Mr Frevola across the face. Apparently on Thursday, Twitter threatened Meta with legal action over its new social media app Threads, claiming it to be a “copycat” platform built by hiring former Twitter staffs. Since  its emergence, Meta’s text-based platform built in partnership with Instagram, has stacked up more than tenths of millions signups, seemingly becoming the most rapidly downloaded app ever and the most popular Twitter alternative yet. (Jantakareporter) Recently, a court in India sentenced 10 men to a decade each in prison for lynching a Muslim man, who was tortured to death after being forced to chant Hindu religious slogans four years ago. The young man by name Tabrez Ansari, 24 years, was tied to an electricity pole and tortured in an interval of 12 hours by a mob in June 2019 after being accused of breaking into a house and stealing a motorbike in the eastern state of Jharkhand. Videos from the assault showed Ansari being forced to chant 'Jai Shri Ram' (hail Lord Ram) and ‘Jai Hanuman’ (hail Hanuman) – religious slogans appropriated by Hindu hardliners – while he pleaded for his life. Despite Ansari chanting the slogan, the mob kept assaulting him through the night. The local police arrested Ansari the next day for theft.
