FIRST LADY ENCOURAGES NIGERIANS AHEAD OF FUTURE PLANS

(Photo credits: The Leadership) The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, assured the people of Nigeria that her office's New Hope Initiative will bring relief to families across the country when it is fully implemented. . Ms Tinubu, who is also the National Chair of the initiative, said this after the second board meeting of the initiative held at her office in Aso Rock Villa in Abuja. According to a statement by media assistant Busola Kukoyi, the first lady ensured that all measures were taken to ensure a smooth start to the project in the 36 federal states and the FCT. Senator Tinubu explained that various state and local governments will be involved because the project is global for the federation. She pointed out that the core areas of the project include agriculture, health, education, social investment and economic empowerment. According to Presidency sources, Mr El-Rufai told President Tinubu during a meeting on Tuesday that he was no longer interested in becoming a minister but would continue to contribute to Nigeria's growth as a private man. TINUBU'S INTERVENTION LEADS TO STRIKE SUSPENSION BY LABOUR

After President Bola Tinubu and the Senate intervened, the planned strike was halted, according to the Nigeria Labour Congress. The resolution was adopted after the Congress' National Executive Council meeting. In a brief message sent to our correspondent this morning (Thursday), the national treasurer Hakeem Ambali stated, "Protest suspended due to the Senate intervention and meeting with President Tinubu yesterday." According to the FTN, the President and the labor leaders had an urgent meeting as a result of the NLC protest that took place yesterday across the federation, including in the Federal Capital Territory. The NLC had initially stated that it would only call off its strike after the government demonstrated its seriousness. A REVIEW OF THE N8000 PALLIATIVE BY TINUBU DUE TO PRESSURE

  (President Bola Tinubu in office) A review into his administration plan for N8,000 monthly transfer to 12 million vulnerable Nigerians to cushion the effects of the subsidy removal has been ordered by Bola Tinubu.         In a letter was the review package read last Thursday on the floor of the House of Representatives concerning the $800 million loan request of the previous Muhammadu Buhari administration for a social safety net programme. His Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communications and Strategy, who is Dele Alake by name on Tuesday, noted that the N8,000 was not the only item in the relief package initiated by Tinubu. According to dele, Tinubu directed “ that the N8,000 conditional cash transfer programmed envisaged to bring succour to most vulnerable households be reviewed immediately”.   Ex-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday discloses  on the petrol subsidy removal ‘challenge’ that he left for his successor, Bola Tinubu , saying had it been the policy was implemented, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Tinubu would have lost in the Presidential Elections. Speaking through spokesman, Garba Shehu, via a statement, the ex-president however, commended the steps taken so far by the new administration in implementing the removal of petrol subsidy and attempt to unify the Naira exchange rate. The statement, according to Shehu, was a response to constant queries by some critics who have questioned why Tinubu did it in weeks to remove the petrol subsidy whereas Buhari didn’t do so for several years.
