TINUBU'S INTERVENTION LEADS TO STRIKE SUSPENSION BY LABOUR

After President Bola Tinubu and the Senate intervened, the planned strike was halted, according to the Nigeria Labour Congress.

The resolution was adopted after the Congress' National Executive Council meeting.

In a brief message sent to our correspondent this morning (Thursday), the national treasurer Hakeem Ambali stated, "Protest suspended due to the Senate intervention and meeting with President Tinubu yesterday."

According to the FTN, the President and the labor leaders had an urgent meeting as a result of the NLC protest that took place yesterday across the federation, including in the Federal Capital Territory.

The NLC had initially stated that it would only call off its strike after the government demonstrated its seriousness.
