JUST IN: FORMER VICE PRESIDENT, ATIKU ABUBAKAR MEETS KWANKWASO

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria and Presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections, and Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP), Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, meet in Abuja on Tuesday night.

The purpose or agenda of the meeting, which took place at Kwankwaso's residence in Abuja, was unknown at the time of this report.

Sources reported that Atiku and Kwankwaso were known to be political opponents, a development that suggested the meeting could be called to close ranks and there was fierce opposition against the ruling Congress of the Progressive Congress. Ministry (APC) led by President Bola Tinubu.

In the February 25 presidential election won by Tinubu, the outcome is currently disputed by Atiku and another opposition candidate, Peter Obi of the Labor Party (LP) at the Presidential Electoral Court (PEPC), Kwankwaso took fourth place behind Atiku and Obi, who follow Tinubu respectively.
