A young boy 10 years, by name Ray Jordan, was being rushed to hospital with water intoxication after drinking six bottles in just one hour. Ray Jordan was rushed to Prisma Health Children's Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina, after suffering from water intoxication. The boy had been playing outside with his cousins during the hot weather and drank six bottles of water within an hour. Symptoms of water intoxication began to appear, including vomiting and loss of motor function. Doctors who examined him at the hospital discovered extremely low sodium levels in his blood, a condition that occurs when the kidneys can't handle excessive water intake. Ray's parents, Stacy and Jeff Jordan expressed their concern over their son's condition and described Ray's symptoms, stating that he appeared intoxicated, mentally impaired, and unable to control his head or arms. How CCHF spread The World Health Organisation (WHO) disclosed that the virus spreads through ticks, and the disease is caused by Nairovirus. It further said it has a fatality rate of between 10 and 40 per cent, adding that sources speaking to the British Parliament’s Science , Innovation and Technology Committee revealed it was “highly likely” there could soon be cases in the United Kingdom. During the hearing, James Wood, head of veterinary medicine at Cambridge University, said CCHF could find its way to the UK “through our

SMART GLOVES TO ASSIST STROKE PATIENTS WHO PLAYED KEYBOARD

(Photo credits: metro uk) Scientist have developed a pair of smart gloves that could allow stroke patients with limb weakness to relearn to play the piano. The exoskeleton glove uses artificial intelligence, moving components known as actuators, and touch sensors in a way that could help patients relearn manual tasks after losing or showing a reduced ability to move hands, fingers, or wrists. The researchers said their proof-of-concept gloves “teaches” its wearer to play the piano by “feeling” the difference between right and wrong movements. We found that the glove can learn to distinguish between correct and incorrect piano play Dr Erik Engeberg Dr Erik Engeberg, a professor at Florida Atlantic University’s department of ocean & mechanical engineering, in the US, said: “We found that the glove can learn to distinguish between correct and incorrect piano play. “This means it could be a valuable tool for personalised rehabilitation of people who wish to relearn to play music.” It i
