BREAKING: MILITARY AIRCRAFT CRASHES IN NIGER STATE

A plane belonging to the Nigerian Air Force has crashed.

Sources revealed on Monday that the plane was taking off from Kaduna en route to Minna, the capital of Niger state when the incident occurred.

Other details of the incident were still sketchy at the time of completion of this report.

Several calls to Air Force spokesman Edward Gabkwet went unanswered.

He has yet to reply to texts and Whatsapp messages sent to him about it. The Nigerian Air Force has confirmed that one of its planes crashed in Niger State on Monday.

The Air Force said the plane was on an evacuation mission when the crash occurred.

A statement released Monday by the NAF's Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Force Edward Gabkwet, said the plane had left Zungeru Elementary School en route to Kaduna, but it was later discovered. landed in a village in the Shiroro Local Government Area. of Nigeria.

Part of it read: “A Nigerian Air Force MI-171 helicopter on a victim evacuation mission crashed today, August 14, 2023, at around 1:10 pm. Chukuba village in the state of Niger

"The plane left Zungeru Primary School on its way to Kaduna, but it was later found to have crashed near the village of Chukuba in the Shiroro Local Government Area in Niger State."

Gabkwet said efforts were underway to save the pilots and passengers on board.

"Attempts are currently underway to rescue the crew and passengers on board the helicopter, while preliminary investigations have begun to determine the probable cause of the crash," the statement said. added.

A woman from Tennessee has been charged with a number of disturbing offenses, including downloading child pornography and recording her dog engaging in sexual acts with her. SHUT DOWN ENSUES: NLC BEGINS PROTEST

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has announced that its planned nationwide protest slated for August 2 (today) would commence at 7:30 am across the federation’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). News reports that the planned protest expresses the labour union’s displeasure over what it described as the unfavorable policies of the President Bola Tinubu-led government, especially the removal of fuel subsidy. The NLC Head of Information, Comrade Benson Upah, told journalists that workers and civil society organisations would converge at the Unity Fountain Abuja to start the protest while the state chapters will equally commence protest at the same time.
